About Us

Democracy is confronting its greatest challenges in generations, both in the United States and around the world.

American democracy is under growing strain. Polarization, declining trust, attacks on elections, and rising extremism threaten a system that has enabled remarkable progress for nearly 250 years.

Protecting and renewing democracy will take all of us. The Jewish community has thrived alongside other communities who found a home in America, and that shared experience carries both opportunity and responsibility. Working together — across differences and sectors — we can help ensure democracy remains strong for generations to come.

Vision

A resilient American democracy that sustains thriving Jewish life.

Mission

We mobilize the American Jewish community to protect and strengthen American democracy.

Our Approach

We help the American Jewish community engage democracy with clarity, courage, and care.

Our work is grounded in research, focused on experimentation and learning, and built through deep partnership.

By translating values into practical tools and shared action, we support individuals and institutions in strengthening democracy — not just in moments of crisis, but for the long term.

“Democracy is something you do,
not something you have.”

Guided by Our Values

Our values shape how we show up — as collaborators, learners, and partners — and how we make decisions in moments of uncertainty. They reflect not only what we believe, but how we practice democracy in real time: with humility, rigor, and care for one another. Above all, they reflect our core belief that democracy isn’t something you have — it’s something you choose every day.

Meet Our Team

Our team brings deep experience across Jewish communal life, democracy, research, and strategic engagement. Together, we translate values into action — working alongside partners and advisors to meet this moment with clarity, rigor, and resolve.
